modifications
- made them longer, 12 rpts
thumb - instead of picking up 2 sts, pick up 6. starting with the last st before gap (as per pattern) ssk, ssk, k2tog, k2tog.

next time wouldn’t work purl column either side of stitch pattern on back of hand

13 apr - 15 rounds complete after dividing for thumb.
12 april - just did incr row to 16 sts. so one incr rpt to go.
11 apr - finished rpt 11 on the train
10 apr - finished rpt 10
9 apr - have worked 6 rpts and 2 rounds on second mitt.
6 apr - worked 8 rounds more on thumb = 12
5 apr - finished those 24 rounds, 5 rows ribbing, cast off in ribbing (still need to do last two sts when i find a needle). picked up sts for thumb, worked 4 rounds
4 apr - finished thumb gusset increases. Really hard to keep count. have knit 5 rounds after separating off for thumb. for reference: on madame souris’ elbows i worked 24 rows even, then 5 rounds ribbing.
2 apr - have taken rather a break. worked 4th thumb gusset increase row. 5 to go. v difficult to keep track of number of rows.
1 mar - onto thumb gusset
13 feb - Kim tried it on today, can definitely be longer. Will do 12 rpts all up
4 feb 2017 - ribbing and one rpt done for first mitt (right)
