1 apr - finished millpost swatch on 2.75mm needle. 4 rows rev stst and a yo in the middle of the fourth rev stst row.
18 mar - nope, decided not to. have cast on w 2.75mm needle again and will do 4 rows of rev st st w a yo on row 4.
17 mar - ready to swap into 4 rows of rev st st on sample.
16 mar - v happy with a yo on previous row to make 6 into. now, 3 rows of rev st st or 4? but does that make it considerably wider?? try yo version on 2.75mm?
12 mar - have been swatching away. I think the millpost merino is the way to go. Might try it on 3mm needle, just to get the motifs a little larger.
15 jan 2020 - have made some realisations this evening knitting on the isager merilin swatch and looking more closely at the original sample. The fourth row should be knit, not purl so that there are four rows of reverse st st. Also need to make six sts in the initial increase to create a large enough ‘hole’. Still not sure though how those sts are made. Might ask jennifer for her opinion or will need to look at the garment again to trace the course of the threads.
Oh my goodness, are they cast on?? Those initial 6 increases, not all made into the one st. Cable cast on? Knitted cast on? Would surely make for a good ‘hole’ too!!
Cable cable cable!! I can’t believe it took me so long to cotton on!
