expect will need about 5 skeins of the mad tosh
- garter stitch background; slip st takes place on the wrong side of the work, need to bring yarn to front of work to do the slip st, then return to back of work to knit
- even rows in chart are RS
BACK - start ribbing with A PURL ST
modifications
changing construction - knit front and back flat, sleeves flat from bottom up. Had planned to join at yoke and knit yoke flat all in one then seam sides and a single raglan seam at the back but actually don’t really see the point of that either. I think the raglan seams are good for keeping it in shape.
7 jun - have given up on this actually :( i frogged it today bc when i changed balls there was a too obvious shade difference. hand-painted yarn can really tick me off in that way. grrr. don’t want to actually mark it as frogged though bc don’t want to lose the notes.
4 apr - picked this up again. Had forgotten about a sl st edging so have just been working in garter. Came on holiday and brought only the partial ball that I had started working from. Finished what was left of it in one knitting session - bar one row, am to the end of chart d. Now have to work 17-48 twice through. V enjoyable knitting, went so easily.
4 dec 14 - did some maths while waiting for an eye appt with poppet. on 3.5mm needle cast on 109 sts using buttonhole cast on (jeny’s stretchy). garter st slip stitch edging. k 6 rows of rib starting w a k. must remember to start w a p for back. have done 6 rows of slip st pattern.
3 dec 14 - finished a swatch on 3.75mm needles. gauge was about 27sts, aiming for 29 so plan to go down a needle size. and thank goodness, i have addi lace in 3.5mm.
