Notes

Using grey beads from Kashmir

1.0mm crochet hook

B - used method from Kashmir shawl w a crochet hook, instead of stringing the beads on.

beaded welt - 3 sts from the end of the first p row, bead a stitch, p2. bead the first st of the next row, bead every third st to stitch 37.

  • picked up and purled 2 extra stitches for thumb. then worked k, ssk, k to 3 sts from end of round, k2tog, k.

hand - knit 4 further repeats, then rolled edging.
thumb - knit 5 extra garter ridges for extra length.

cast off - k2togtbl, put st back on left needle.

19 aug - hand complete, just need to cast off teh thumb!
17 aug - have worked the prescribed extra 10 rows beyond separating for the thumb. 8 rows to go there.
15 aug - 17 rows of hand and thumb gusset worked on second mitt (i ripped the first one back).

30 may - CRAP! working the left glove, i realise that i missed a section out of the right glove. 7 rows. mitt surgery? but it’s so fine and tight. frog? uuurgh. knit the second glove incorrectly too? but then i have to frog the extra rows on it. CRAP!
nope, grafting not an option - there’s the thumb gusset increases in that round. frog or leave it. best check with lidia :(
28 may - thumb done. knit 5 extra garter ridges for extra length.
27 may - oh yay, cast off right mitt; used k2togtbl, put st back on left needle. just the thumb to go. and the rest of the left mitt.
25 may - ugh, unravelled finished hem back to garter rib pattern. knit 4 further repeats. ready to do rolled edging again.
17 May - right mitt, thumb gusset complete.
14 May - right mitt, have 6 thumb gusset sts. Sup to startibg thumb gusset on left mitt.
11 May - 22 garter ridges = 3”
2 may - worked on length a bit more.
2 apr - finished second cuff, got them both onto one circular needle.
31 mar - third beaded welt done
22 mar - cuff 2, finished first of the rolling thunder rpts
14 mar - cuff 1 complete.
19 feb - finished next rolling thunder band.
18 feb - second beaded welt done and row 14 of chart.
8 feb - actually really find this small gauge knitting relaxing. First 10 rows done. worked beaded welt. turned hem on what is effectively row 11 of chart. worked first round of next beaded welt but will pause here for stakeholder approval.
6 feb 2016 - had to cast these on (yes, just had to) bc i needed my addi circ. but i’ll put them aside again for a while.
