still wondering whether to rip sleeves back to end of chart and not work incrs either side of dbl decr. Would take 6 sts out sleeve at that point. Would still work to same length and cuff though I think

ribbing - 3cm/10 rows.
button bands - 7 rows and cast off
gauge is 20 sts in stst
neck cast on is 7 rpts

modifications

• cast on for size M but didn’t separate for sleeves on size M row 49 of chart B.
• Continue until size M row 55; at this point worked size L row 51 for first and last three rpts (so eight rpts of M row 55). Continue to work from separate charts.
• Divide for sleeves on M row 57/L row 53
• On fronts, work L size row 57 as short rows, turning just after the twisted sts before the underarm.
• Sleeves knit flat and seamed, slip first st of each row for seaming
• Start sleeve decrs on row 63 of M size chart B
• Work decrs 2 sts from edge
• 18 decr rows, 19th set of decrs in cuff
• cuff - 41 sts; 3cm/10 rows twisted rib ktbl/ptbl
• 116sts for bands

14 ju - wore it yesterday, happy with sleeves!
13 jul 2021 - oops. i knit this up so fast and now it’s a year later. wove in ends yesterday. still need to sew on buttons. still pondering sleeves. and later in the day - i have sewn on the buttons! i had them loosely attached with blue yarn initially but decided that i really liked the touch of blue so have sewn them on with blue cotton embroidery thread (gutermann) and a backing button. happy.
18 jul - buttonhole band done! still considering whether sleeves could be narrower. Picked up 129 sts for neckband, worked 2 rows. Will do short rows next.
4 jul - bought excellent buttons yesterday from buttonmania. 3 st-wide buttonhole test a success. Three rows of buttonhole band done, marked button hole locations to do on next row.
2 jul - cast off button band. Hmm, buttons?
1 jul - cast off hem ribbing. Picked up sts for front bands on both sides, worked one row of button band.
30 jun - ribbing done! Still need to cast off.
28 jun - knit 14 more rows. Might be ready to start ribbing. Will steam block tomorrow to check length. Weighs 526gm at this point.
27 jun - am onto last loose ball, 2 full skeins left after this.
25 jun - both sleeves done but I think may be too long. Might need to rip back ribbing and 18th decr, then work 18th and 19th decr in ribbing.
24 jun - left sleeve has 41 sts at cuff and have done 19 decrs, thus 38sts. Total sleeve sts 79. Left sleeve complete yesterday, 10 rows of ribbing. Cast off in pattern. Ripped right sleeve back to first decr row bc stitch count was wrong. I think I forgot to do the incrs either side of the double decr in the chart. Have re-knit, 13 decrs done.
22 jun - 18 decrs on left sleeve, then work even for 5 rows. Ready to start ribbing on 4mm, will do sl1, k 1 tbl, p2tog, 1x1 twisted rib. 10 decrs done on right sleeve.
20 jun - have worked 17 decrs on left sleeve and have partly seamed. need to steam block and check length before going any further. have also worked about 1”of length on body and have worked first decr row on right sleeve.
16 jun - nope. Ripped back left sleeve and started decrs on row 63 of M size chart B. Seven sets of decrs worked.
15 jun - chart B complete on body and sleeves.
14 jun - divided for sleeves. Used buttonhole cast on for underarm sts. Seems to be easier to ptbl of that cast on. Worked 1 short row per front, pattern st is now the same count fronts and sleeves/back. Finished fourth skein on last pattern row of upper body. Am onto the fifth skein on the right sleeve. Will work to end of patterning before starting decreases. Also intend to work other sleeve to same point and seam both and try on for size. Don’t think I’ll end up using more than 10 skeins.
13 jun - chart A complete. M row 56/L row 51 of chart B complete.

10 jun - used up first ball early on row 23 of chart A
8 jun 2020 - oooh, exciting! cast on s/m size using 4.5mm needles, purled a row then worked 4 rows of chart A.
23 sept 2019 - trying the manx on 4.5mm needle.
