Since this is an oversize sweater, I’m making the smallest size. I don’t really want it to be able to go over multiple layers of clothing nor hang like a sack. I’ll probably make it a little longer but that is all.
I used all nine balls of Heilo and four skeins of the lovely Lopez Island mutt yarn.
The sleeves, despite me making them the length for the S turned out short but nothing that a good steaming can’t fix!
My gauge was 25 stitches per 10cm, not 24, and my row gauge was monstrously off but it still turned out ok. :-)
The finishing was fascinating. All of the steeked areas had a facing that covered them. This doubled the amount of sewing but at least sewing down the facing only requires care to avoid showing the stitching on the right side. Inside, the cardie looks very neat and tidy, except where I had booboos and stitched some of the facing into the seam…
