Amount of yarn used is best estimate.

To make curly curlicues, make sure you crochet under only one strand of yarn (as opposed to crocheting into the “V” of the single crochet).

This yarn made a nice stretchy hat (perfect in size). Other yarns I’ve used (Vanna’s Choice, RHSS) make a less stretchy hat and would need to have a longer starting chain in order to be long enough to roll up a cuff. Whatever yarn is used, though, this pattern make a nice stretchy fabric around.
