Notes

Because I used worsted weight yarn and didn’t double strand it, my scarf is thinner than the pattern makes up using bulky yarn. I also had to improvise additional rows until I reached the point where the open spaces are crocheted, but this was super easy to do.

I love this scarf. Heartland yarn is a thin worsted, so it makes for a thin fabric, but given that I will want to tie this up around my neck in cold weather, it works fine for this kind of scarf.

Another comment about the yarn. I found the two skeins I used to be very splitty and there were many bad places in the yarn that had to be cut out. This made for many, many ends to weave in. Very discouraging when crocheting something in one color. These Heartland shades are so pretty, but quality control seems to be hit or miss with it. I’ve always been able to purchase this yarn at a steep discount (40-50% off). I, personally, would not pay full list price - which is something like $5.99/skein in 2015.
