This blanket is what got me to want to learn crochet in the first place! It is the project I had been looking for to make me want to move out from my knitter-only state :)

The main difficulty I found was finding the right 100% cotton yarn to achieve the right gauge.. The Katia Bombay yarn gave me the colours I wanted, but it was too thin, and I wanted the blanket to turn out exactly as the pattern called for. After several attempts, I decided on using double strands, though that was complicated as well, since Katia Bombay has variegated colours, and no two balls had the exact same colour transition. I finally chose to manually change colour at different rounds, rather than letting the yarn do the colour variegation on the blanket. The result was a million ends to weave in, but I’m happy with the outcome.
