Notes

use something SOFT and not fluffy

I used 1.5mm lock-washer safety eyes.

No instructions for eye placement. Thinking dragons are carnivorous, I want them to face forward. Being so large and googly, adding eyelids will give it more expression and character.

I think I overstuffed the head. It would be softer and lighter with less.

Body is 19 sts wide.

Pattern does not include instructions for wings. There is just a link to an unavailable pattern.

For wings, I followed northernbex’s directions. My wings are joined together. With 3 chenille stems held together, I started the magic ring in the centre and worked toward one end. Each “claw” of the wing is sc’d around one chenille stem. Start second wing in the middle again, and work toward other end.

I made nostrils according to instructions on the project page of LoopyforCrochet.

How I made eyelid / eyebrow ridge (all one piece):
Ch 10. Turn. Starting in 2nd ch, sc 2; hdc 4; sc 3. So far, that is the upper eyelid. The next section is the lower eyelid. Ch 7; turn. Starting in 2nd ch, sc 2; hdc 4. Sl st in the last sc of upper lid. Sc 5; sl st. Cut yarn. Sew in place around eye.

Improvised head crest.

Tip of tail done in an arrow shape, and then i sc’d around it in
