Notes

In the book I Wish That I Had Duck Feet by Dr. Seuss (as Theo LeSieg), the feet are orange.

Beginning is tricky (on dpns).
First tried on 3.0mm. Frogged.
Re-started with 2.5mm.

Changes:

  • 2.5mm dpns
  • Turkish Cast On
  • center point shaping uses Turkish CO
  • no purl stitches on sole
  • M1L instead of LLI; M1R instead of RLI
  • Heel: work first 9 sts …
  • row 13: knit to center stitch
  • 2-st i-cord BO up CB
  • 2-st i-cord along instep (3-st would be better) but not on sole
  • 2-st i-cord from tip of L toe, around back to tip of R toe
  • 32-st cuff: 20 rounds in K1, P1.

If the centre stitches on the sole are purled, and then an i-cord is done along that, the bootie can be done with 2 fewer ends to darn in. But the knitting will take longer.
