tired of all the winter greys and browns i made a new hat/gauntlet set to brighten up the last days of winter.

already loving this pattern because i now know the tubular cast on and the fisherman’s rib (really nice stitch by the way, have to make a matching scarf now i guess). it is not in detailed explained in the pattern but you’ll find tutorials for that.

1 skein of Artesano Aran was not enough for me, i was glad i had some left overs from the gauntlets i made before, so i could reach the hats body length suggested in the pattern. but honestly i would have loved to made the hat even longer, i love my hats wide and slouchy, alas, i guess i will make this hat again and invest in an extra skein then.

had to switch to dpn’s to make the crown, i really don’t know how anyone can perform this on circular needles…
