Nikki and her family settled in Woodland Park in September of 2012. A military family, Nikki and her retired Army Special Forces husband, Curt, met in Puerto Rico and lived in Fayetteville NC, Florida, Georgia, Mississippi, and California before Curt discovered Woodland Park while training nearby. An outdoorsman with 2 young sons, Curt recognized Woodland Park as the place he and Nikki (whose degree is in sustainability) wanted to live and raise their boys. Active in school, scouts, and community, they settled right in.
Nikki, a native of Florida, had long been involved in up-cycling and needle arts. Nikki has been a long time quilter and has done many projects in needle point and crochet. She has been making clothes from vintage fabrics for many years now. She was immediately enchanted by the yarns and apparel that the Woodland Park weather inspires. She hopes to combine that passion, her teaching skills, and an enjoyment of the family of knitters, to bring the “City Above the Clouds” an oasis where the finest textiles become the beautiful and welcome accessories of a good life.
