top photo is the original hat, and the following 2 pictures show my replica pattern. my 4 year old daughter and my 23” head can wear this hat. you can add a repeat for each row, but i would go down in needle size and maybe even yarn size.

pattern revision: june 17, 2008 - i reviewed the big bag pattern and it mentions to purl the first stitch when knitting the bottom of the bag. this way picking up stitches (for the side of the bag) is easier. i looked at my bag, and i believe i did the same.
