This is a 9 inch afghan square. Like the Fireworks surprise square, it is also reversible and starts out similarly. It can be made with as few as two colours and as many as 7.

This pattern is a bit of an improvised Granny square, simple to stitch, once you get the hang of it. You can use as few as two colours and as many as eight to achieve the look you’re going for. This square looks nice on both sides, if you weave your ends well.
