I love knitting socks. I also have a big box full of hand knitted socks in my bedroom dresser drawer. The simple knit and purl pattern on my latest design - Box of Sox - reminds me of this colourful box of socks in my drawer.

My grandson (aged 4) asked me to knit him a pair of socks, so I thought it would be cool if we each had a matching pair ….Nana and me socks!

To some people this sock pattern may look like honeycombs dripping down the front of the leg. However, to me, I see the frosted windows after a heavy snow fall or ice storm here in Ontario, Canada. What do you think? Either way, right now…. Honey, it’s cold out!

I live in Canada, and the only thing with any colour in the winter time are the beautiful evergreen trees.

While I was on holiday recently in Nova Scotia, I picked up a stitch pattern book. As I flipped through it, I found a stitch that looked like spiders. Well to me they looked like spiders!! I think it also goes by the starlight stitch, the daisy stitch or the butterfly stitch depending on who you are asking.

When I go on holiday (vacation) I like to pop into a local yarn shop and purchase a special skein of yarn. Usually fingering weight, from a local dyer to make a pair of socks.
