Knitting: Pullover
This top is knit in brioche stitch on large needles, it is a quick knit in spite of the fingering weight yarn. There is very little seaming, just the sleeve seam. The front and back has an easy three needle bind off. Contrasting I-cord is used to hold the sides together and is also used as a fun accent on the front.
Knitting: Skirt
This feminine and flirty skirt is knit in a tighter gauge than the yarn ordinarily calls for, which helps bring stability to the knitted fabric. The tightly knitted cotton yarn combats sag, and the wool yarn gives the skirt elasticity.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
Use that single, fun colored, bulky weight ball/skein in your stash. Design works especially well with self-striping or variegated yarns.
Knitting: Skirt
Previously published in Interweave Knits magazine Summer 2011. Pattern has been updated and modified. Specifically the waistline has been updated and instructions on how to modify for different weights of yarn and skirt length have been added. Sport or fingering weight makes a lovely skirt.
Knitting: Cardigan
This cardigan fits a wide range of sizes and body types. The waist is adjustable and the striping effect (provided by the ribbing) fitted cross-wise on the torso gives the illusion of a (smaller) waist. This is a great pattern for plus size women as well.
Knitting: Billed Hat
This slouchy newsboy cap has a delicious leaf pattern in lace, a nice elastic ribbing and a fun detail on the bill. It is knit entirely in one piece, only two ends to weave in.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Clarifying yardage here for people:
Knitting: Scarf, Fingerless Gloves, Beret, Tam
Yarn: Worsted-weight yarn, approximately 200 yds / 183 m for hat; 200 yds / 183 m for mittens; 400 yds / 366 m for scarf
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Tulip Dreams is worked top down, starting with a garter tab cast on, from the neck to the outside edge. The lace and cable sections are charted and make for a fun knit.
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
Blomster is a lovely pair of toe-up socks with a fun wrapped stitch technique that creates little flowers. There is a tutorial for the flower pattern as well as a chart.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
One rainy day here in Northern California the kids and I were in the van going to scouts. The kids were tracing raindrops on the windows. This gave me the idea to make this shawl. Designing perfectly round circles in knitting proved to be a bit more difficult than I had at first imagined.
