Nynaeve (pronounced: nigh-neev) is one of the main characters of The Wheel of Time fantasy series by Robert Jordan;

I recommend 80 - 100 g Wollmeise lace yarn (depending on the size you work). Less yarn might work as well, if you adjust the number of repeats (work 5 instead of 6 repeats, that is 51 sts to cast on).

This is an almost reversible lace pattern, which means both sides are looking nearly similar (see photos). It will work best with 1 or 2-ply yarn which is not too fuzzy.

You can use any other laceweight or fingering yarn and even variegated yarn with a “dramatic” colorway, but keep an eye on the yardage. My testknitters substituted with slightly heavier sockyarn and needed 1800 up to 2000 yd. If you are using a larger needle size than 3.5 mm, extra yardage should always be purchased as yardage cannot be guaranteed.
