Who says socks are strictly utilitarian? These socks were inspired by a scene from the first season of “Outlander”. The beauty of the women dancing within the circle of stones has never left me. Recently, I heard the song from this scene and my mind took off.

The idea for this sock came from the delight of 2 sisters from Harlingen, Texas, at the hand knit socks made and designed by Prairie Knitter and ED. Because they always made us feel like better knitters/designers than we actually are, we had to do something to repay them. I mean, ego boosts are always welcome, aren’t they.

Any yarn that knits to gauge will work. Have done same sock with J. Knits Superwash Me Sock. Will be available May 1st on Ravelry.

Challenging to set up but relatively easy to knit once you get going. Any good worsted weight or aran yarn will work for this garment. Takes a lot of stitch holders or cables so get them ready before you start!
