Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
This sock is knitted from the heel up and from the toe down, allowing you to mirror the pattern using only one chart.

Sock is knit toe-up, in the round until the heel is completed, then flat for the leg. Each sock has 7 1/4” functional buttons, and the buttonholes are made with double yarnovers. Sole is reverse stockinette and heel is reverse heel flap.

This is done using either 70g main color (MC); 15-20g each of two contrasting colors (A and B) –OR- 70g MC and 30-40g painted or highly variegated; I used Elann’s Peruvian Baby Silk, in Sapphire (MC), Parchment (color A), and Cornflower (color B)

20 sts in k5, p5 pattern = 3”. You may need bigger needles, as I usually need to drop 1-2 needle sizes for other peoples patterns. Takes one 7 oz. skein of Simply Soft.
