Knitting: Scarf
This document is more of a description of how to make a scarf using a stitch called horizontal ribbing. It can be done in any size/length using any gauge/weight of yarn. It’s more of a technique for a stitch than a pattern.
Knitting: Purse / Handbag
I needed a bag that was compact and secure to carry around valuable items at public events (like craft shows, retreats and fiber festivals). The fabric had to be dense and not easily pierced by a knitting needle and the shoulder strap needed to be adjustable. The overall look of the bag had to be classic looking enough to complement a somewhat ...
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
To make the three larger sized gloves, you can simply use Worsted weight yarn and US7 (4.5 mm) needles. Gauge changes to 20 sts/28 rows = 4” and the gloves measure 8.25”(9”, 9.5”) tall (from cuff to top)
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Simple and elegant, two-color, garter stripe, rectangular wrap. The short-row shaping section in the center accomplishes two things:
Knitting: Earflap Hat
This design starts with knitting a headband that is shaped to cover your ears (with double-thick earflaps) and back of your neck. It can be bound off as a thick and warm headband, or extended to be a full knit cap that also keeps your ears and neck warm and toasty. The headband section is double-fabric and extra plush and warm.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Simple, quick knit where the yarn does most of the work.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Bright colors accented by condensed highlights of “sworls” on a darker background.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Very generously sized rectangular wrap. Done in a loose mesh that drapes and conforms to shoulders and back and neck to keep you warm and comforted. Like being wrapped in a thousand little hearts.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This simple hat is a simple tube with increases at the beginning and decreases at the top which shapes the inside and outside of the cap. It is knit on US11 needles with worsted weight yarn that creates a very loose and warm fabric when it is doubled up to form the hat.
Knitting: Scarf
Simple, fast-knitting scarf makes excellent use of self-striping and gradient yarns to create a fabric that is attractive on both sides.
Knitting: Scarf
Simple stitch pattern gives both texture and color-blending qualities to the fabric. Great scarf to practice with color theories where blended stripes would work well.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Tightly fitting cap similar to the London Beanie.
Knitting: Scarf
Textured and vividly bright scarf, mixing two colorways of Koigu KPPPM. Pattern uses various techniques of slipped, dropped and gathered stitches to create a beautiful and interesting final garment.
Knitting: Throw
Panels of brioche rib and garter stitch are accented with a center panel cable that is completely reversible (the cable looks the same on both sides). The fabric is lofty and squishy, soft and creates a cozy, warm blanket that will invite you to wrap yourself up while you knit, watch television or read. The color mixing makes for a beautiful fa...
Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
Unique heel shaping which requires no picking up stitches and makes a very form-fitting heel.
Knitting: Scarf
This pattern mixes two colors of variegated yarns very well. It calls for two different weights of yarn, but could easily be done with both in fingering weight or both in sport weight.
Knitting: Slippers
Toe-up sock design with increases for gusset and flat knitting (with seam at back of heel) for heel and ankle.
Crochet: Scarf
This textured scarf mixes leftover colors of sock or fingering weight yarn in a beautiful wavy fabric.
Knitting: Scarf
This pattern is available for purchase.
Knitting: Earflap Hat
This hat was designed on the fly and I wrote up the pattern as I designed it, and then realized I hated it after it was finished. I thought I looked stupid in it.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This shawl pattern is a standard rectangular wrap that uses three different lace pattern stitches. One is the center panel, then the outer edges and finally the third is the ends of the wrap.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Done in white shimmery yarn, this shawl works up to be a lovely wrap to make your little girl’s day special. Done in any other more drapey yarn, it would be a perfect cover for your shoulders on a cool night.
Knitting: Pullover
A pullover made with DK weight yarn knits up quickly in a fisherman’s rib patterns stich, and then adds a colorful accent with a faux roll-neck collar done in a contrasting color.
