Yarn: I used ‘Bona Yarns’ BFL DK for my cowl’. Kits can be ordered from BonaYarns.com. Feel free to switch out with other yarns in the same weight that better suit your budget/tastes. I used the following amounts in the scarf:

’Honey For The Bees’ is an infinity scarf, with directions for adding in an optional Möbius twist, knit in fingering weight yarns.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
’Troublemaker’ is the big bad brother to my ‘Wavemaker’ shawl that is knit in a fingering weight. And just like it’s little brother, it’s a perfect way to show off beautiful variegated yarn.

It’s been a damned difficult year, to say the least. For those of us who have survived it, however, it feels as though glimmers of hope are on the horizon.
Knitting: Scarf
’Latvianesque’ is an infinitity scarf that is long enough to wrap around one’s neck for a super cosy scarf, or left to hang for a more dramatic look that will show off all the panels.

Wow. What a year, to say the least. I think it ranks up there with 2010 for the worst year of my life. And I’m sure I’m not alone.

Definition of hither and thither
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
It’s that time of year when us knitters are working up a frenzy with our gift knitting, and we need to whip one or more quick knits out - if you thought the name referred to anything else, well, that shows you what sort of mind you have! LOL
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
’Wavemaker’ was created to show off the beauty of multicolour hand dyed & hand painted skeins, with the use of drop stitches creating a wave pattern, interspersed with rows of plain garter stitch. No purling involved.

’Brand New Day (A Cowl)’ features stunning Fair Isle patterns and is knit using a regular skein of Wollmeise ‘Pure’ and a set of 10 mini-skein ‘Birdies’, also from Wollmeise. I used ‘Natur’ for the background and the ‘Pippi-Lotta’ set.

’Brand New Day (A Hat) is a Fair Isle beanie made using yarn left over from knitting the matching cowl.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Like so many of us, this Coronavirus pandemic has not been an easy ride for me. I quite enjoyed the lockdown and the feeling of chaos that I experienced back in March to June.

’Skullduggery (A Cowl)’ is a stranded colourwork cowl, knit in the round and featuring skull motifs, with an increase round at the neckline and stripes of purls and knits around the collar.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
‘Skullduggery (A Hat)’ is a stranded colourwork hat, featuring ear flaps worked in German short rows and skull motifs. Worked using two yarns - one in a (semi-)solid and one in a variegated to mimic the colour shifts in traditional Fairisle without all the ends to weave in.

Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
’Wave Goodbye’ is a kite-shaped shawl, beginning with 3 stitches and then gradually increasing. Incorporated decreases then modify the shape into a beautiful, soaring kite.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Starting with a cast on of 8 stitches, ‘From the Vortex’ is worked from the centre, featuring textured (purl) stripes and a triangular lace pattern. Once a square is formed, the knitting goes from in-the-round to being worked flat, tapering down along the length, again with textured stripes and the same lace pattern.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
’Turning The Corner’ is a triangular shawlette/wrap, begun in one corner with central decreases and yarn overs, to create a V-shape. About a third of the way through, the knitting occurs just along one half of the V, and gradually picking up stitches from the other half of the V.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
A fun, funky beanie, knit in the round, featuring twisted-stitch ribbing and a skull motif added in duplicate stitch, finished off with a contrasting beanie.
Knitting: Cowl
Beginning with a provisional cast on, the cowl is knit in the round, and then the two ends are joined with a kitchener graft, with a half-twist to create a Möbius loop.

‘Candy Skull (A Hat)’ is a stranded colourwork beanie, knit in the round and featuring skull motifs.
Knitting: Scarf
A simple scarf that is kitchenered together to create a large loop, perfect for showing off beautifully hand-painted yarns.
Knitting: Cowl
‘Candy Skull (A Cowl)’ is a stranded colourwork cowl, knit in the round and featuring skull motifs. I have worked mine in a pale grey and four different multis, but make it your own by choosing your own colours, whether that be colourful multis, bright solids or something more muted.

Do you or your intended recipient hate cold ears in winter? Do you love knitting with hand painted yarn? Then here’s the perfect solution - a beanie hat, knit in the round, featuring short row ear flaps that are incorporated into the brim, with a linen stitch crown. Both help to break up any pooling that may happen, whist showing off the beauty...
