Idril is kind of a combination of the traditional wedge circle and the concentric circle, which creates sixteen beams shooting out of the center of your shawl.

Description: “Noella” - a French Feminine form of Noël, which means Christmas.

Lapidary- a person who works with precious stone. Also, of/relating to gemstones. From the Latin lapidarius. This design came out of playing with diamonds. Playing with the way they fit together, the way you can build larger diamonds out of smaller diamonds, and the way you can carve smaller diamonds out of larger ones.

Mayur, meaning “peacock” in Sanskrit, was inspired by my desire to create a two color shawl with an ombre stripping sequence.

Anwar means “brighter,” “luminous,” or “light,” depending on where you look. Either way knitting this shawl certainly made a rather dull winter a little bit brighter.

Worked all in one piece, Asymmetrical Bluebells is a long shallow triangular shawl, with a simple sawtooth edging all along one edge, and a smattering of stylized flower motifs scattered across a garter stitch background.

This shawl came out of my desire for a simple project that didn’t take much thought and that would travel well. So I designed a shawl that would combine large sections of garter stitch with smaller portions of simple lace patterning. The combination of cushy garter stitch and simple lace make for relaxing knitting and a cozy finished object.

Breathe. Sit. Knit.

Inspired by the ruff many dragons are depicted with, this shawl consists of a background of garter stitch mesh interspersed with strips of stockinette that add depth. It’s finished off with a deep garter stitch border that grounds the entire piece.

Inspired by the simple but elegant yet geometric shapes of a spider’s web, made up entirely of garter stitch and eyelet rows, this is an incredibly simple shawl to knit and would make a great first true lace weight project.

Malus domestica is more commonly known as the apple tree. Inspired by the plethora and variety of apples available at the multitude of farmers markets and roadside stands all up and down New England, this shawl, with its’ solid, cushy fabric and thin bright stripes easily invokes the feeling of apple orchards on a chilly morning.

Stacks of blocks tumbling down. Falling from and back into little fields of mesh, leaving simple serenity in their wake.

A-ha! combines simple lace motifs, self striping yarn and straight forward shaping to create a shawl that looks way more complicated than it is.

Triangles mirrored make diamonds. Diamonds stacked make columns. Columns of diamonds and off-set triangles intermingle and play across a crescent of a field. And as they play, they all see themselves in the other. Because triangles mirrored make diamonds, and diamonds halved make triangles.

Yardage Note: The pattern is written for a lace weight yarn held double, however it can also be knit with a slightly heavier yarn held single. This will require approximately half the original yardage.
