This is a multi-gauge pattern. You can use any yarn from bulky (3.5 sts = inch) to DK (5.5 sts = inch). Choose different necklines, stitches, edgings. Add pockets or a collar.

Included are directions for a knitted, beaded pin, a knitted “mum” embellishment and finger-knitted, coiled “pots”. You can use various weights and types of yarn.

The instructions for each size and weight of yarn are determined by knitting a gauge and then following the charts for that particular gauge. That is why the pattern references ‘options’. It makes the pattern very versatile in that it is good for many different types of yarns but tricky for a novice knitter.

Sized for American Girl Dolls, 10” and 16” bears and children. The bottom edging is worked separately and then you pick up stitches along the edge for the body. The body is worked in one piece; the sleeves are worked separately.

Knitted with 5 colors of aran weight yarn. It’s a knitted rectangle with a diagonal slit and can be worn in many ways. Make it with wool for a cozy wrap or with cotton for a lightweight cover-up.

A wide ribbing of mock cables creates a long, flattering line. Buttonholes are knitted as you go.

Out-of-print for years, this pattern is now available online! It includes directions for making the sweater and leggings for a 10” bear as well as for the American Girl doll. And directions for making the sweater for a child.

This is a very cool pattern, since it has a menu for different types of yarn, and different sleeves (none, short, long and 3/4) and necks (round, ballet, v-neck). You can choose your gauge, sleeve, neckline and stitch.

Worked in 4 colors, the back has horizontal stripes of simple texture stitches and the fronts are worked on the diagonal.
