Tumbledown Mountain is a sweet shawlette named for Tumbledown Mountain in central Maine with its gentle peaks easing into a high mountain pond of the same name. It’s likely to be my new favorite hiking spot this summer!

Ripple is an all over lace shawl. Intervals of beading catch little droplets of light while the simple lace repetitions look like ripples of water lapping up against the shore. The pattern is only available as charted instructions at this time.

I was in the process of designing this shawl when a nest of spiders hatched out in my house…from the ceiling fan…yuck right! Little spiderlings on little webs were showering down everywhere in my living room. It’s as if these tiny beings crept their way into my fingers as I knit this shawl with its cascade of tiny eyelets and beads, finishing i...

This shawl is a combination of two classic shawl shapes. Increases are worked on the edges for a crescent shape and down either side of a central spine of single garter stitch. The result is a deeply curved triangle that stays nicely put on your shoulders. A little drama, a little class and a lot of romance, perfect for my creative and talented...

Living near Grand Teton National park, our section of the Snake River is a daily inspiration for me. I wanted to design a shawl in honor of the Shoshone people whose hand sign for their tribe resembled a moving snake leading early explorers to name the Snake River after the earliest inhabitants of it’s banks.

Mountain Bluebird is inspired by the brightly colored state bird of Idaho which comes to nest in my neighborhood in late spring. Their vibrant blue feathers are a cheerful sign that the long cold months are coming to an end and Summer is around the corner. The pattern includes instructions for both an all over lace version and a stockinette ver...

Knitting: Cowl
I’ve knit my mom lace, funky felted slippers, sweaters, socks…you name it! however, it seems the more intricate the pattern the less likely she is to wear the item in fear of “ruining it”. So I went a different direction this Christmas and knit her a basic highly wearable and washable infinity cowl. Keep your fingers crossed that it will make i...
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
Pretty little fingerless mitts for when your hands are feeling a tiny bit shy
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
Turbulence mitts have cables flowing towards and away from each other like the wake behind a boat or how I imagine wind flowing over the wing of an airplane.

“Seeds” is a slightly slouchy pompom hat with a simple seed stitch pattern. It is tight enough to stay on your head while skiing in 50 mph wind and stylish enough for an Après hot cocoa by the fire. Because of it’s slouchy nature, this hat will fit most adults heads. if your head is on the smaller size try knitting on size 6 or 7 needles instead.
Knitting: Potholder
This pattern is a wonderful way to use up scraps of left over bulky wool from previous felting projects. The mitts are very heat resistant and make great last minute gifts!

Knitting: Cowl
This sassy little multidirectional cowl is knit as a small triangle first, stitches are then picked up along the base of the triangle and knit up the neck. Three buttons close the back.
Knitting: Purse / Handbag
This medium sized shoulder bag is cute and durable, a perfect canvas for needle felting if you so desire or classically attractive if left plain.
