You can choose any lace weight/fingering weight yarn for this scarf. It can be knit to the length that suits the knitter/recipient.

Hat size can be varied by adding or subtracting the number of stitches in the motif (22).

Pattern is written for fingering weight yarn, but includes variations for sport and worsted weight yarns. Finished size 20 inches. This will take two skeins of different colored yarns, I suggest high contrast so the pattern stands out.
