My favorite hook is the Addi Swing 5.0, so I usually try to pick a suitable. But this pattern is very flexible, you can use any mid-range yarn (not sport or bulky) a 4-6 hook. Then you adjust the size to want you want by the size of the border. You can adapt any number of different borders.
