I had several beginner knitters that were wanting to knit an earflap hat without complicated increases or pattern. The hat is knitted in easy stockinette stitch and uses k1f&b for the increases on the earflaps.

An easy way to start learning to read charts for Fair Isle or Stranded Knitting. The headband is done on larger needles than usual for Fair Isle, which makes it a fast knit. One hank of each color will make 3 headbands by reversing main and contrast for the third one.
