Knitting: Beret, Tam
‘Camomile Tam’ is another popular design from ‘Windswept’. I have one myself, which I wear walking the dogs in the winter. I was thinking thinking of making it available only as a kit, but I’ve decided to release it as a pattern.
Knitting: Cardigan
‘Comfrey’ has been a very popular design from ‘Windswept’. It’s been so popular that it inspired me to design the version ‘Derwent’ from ‘Lakeland’ and ‘Alice’ from ‘Once Upon a Time’. It’s a lovely warm and toasty cardigan wrap with lots of chunky cabling details.
Knitting: Pullover
Dill is one of the most popular designs from my first book ‘Windswept’. It’s a simple, easy to wear sweater with the choice to add the pretty crochet trim or not.
Knitting: Pullover
‘Jasmine’ is a flattering design to wear. It is slightly A line in shape and the saddle shoulders allow the cable pattern to extend up to the side of the neck. It is knitted with a combination of garter stitch and cables and therefore is a good practise style for those wishing to improve their cabling skills.
Knitting: Vest
This is a great design to wear as layer piece under other cardigans, such as ‘Parsley’.
Knitting: Pillow / Cushion
This fun to knit cushion was the project for a workshop earlier this year. It’s a good introduction to 3D knitting and partial knitting. It is an easy technique to master and the loops formed can be turned inside out for a different look, the photographs show the two ways.
Knitting: Pullover
I Love ‘Lovage’ …I love wearing it and the one I have has been washed and worn lots of times and it seems to improve with age, it just gets softer and softer. It’s a very popular design from my first book ‘Windswept’ and I saw a few being worn with pride at the recent Yarndale Show!
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
‘Mint Wrap’ is a timeless wrap which will serve you well for many years. I love to wear this design from ‘Windswept’ wrapped around my tweed coat when it’s cold outside.
Knitting: Cowl
The ‘Mosaic Cowl’ was the project for a popular workshop in 2015 and then it became a very popular kit. I’m currently about to launch a new collection of kits so I can release this design as a pattern download. Mosaic knitting is a great and addictive way to add colour without having to strand. As it uses garter stitch as the b...
Knitting: Hot Water Bottle
The ‘Nordic Hot Water Bottle Cover’ started life as a workshop project for Christmas 2014, it then became a very popular kit. I’m now launching a new collection of kits so I can release this design as a pattern download. It’s a great design to practise your Fairisle skills as it only uses 2 colours throughout. When finish...
Knitting: Scarf
‘Oak Scarf’ from ‘Windswept’ is a great design to practise your Fairisle knitting. As it’s knitted in the round, you are only knitting Fairisle on the right side only and it only uses two colours throughout. Why not have a go!
Knitting: Pullover
ORCHID is a lovely easy to wear boxy style, knitted using Rowan Felted Tweed. The design uses lace and twisted stitch textures. I personally love this design and I wear it a lot. Georgia, my model also had this style knitted in ‘Gilt’ as part of her fee for modelling! The garment shown is knitted in Amethyst 192.
Knitting: Cardigan
‘Parsley’ is another popular design from ‘Windswept’. I wear the original one a lot and like tweed fabric, it improves with age. It becomes softer the more it is washed and worn.
Crochet: Cardigan
‘Rosemary’ from ‘Windswept’ is a lovely knit and crochet combination. This design was actually inspired by ‘Bread and Butter’ from Rowan’s ‘Little Star’ brochure. At the time I received lots of emails asking for an adult version, hence I included ‘Rosemary’ in my first book!
Knitting: Pullover
‘Sage’ is probably the most popular design from ‘Windswept’ and I’ve seen many knitters version of it. I wear my original garment a lot and like any garment knitted in Felted Tweed, improves with age. This design was the original inspiration for the much complimented ‘Sage Throw’, which subsequently insp...
Knitting: Sleeveless Top, Vest
Sorrel Tank is a version of the Sorrel Sweater in the ‘Autumn’ collection. The fairisle pattern is worked flat in pieces and with two colours in a row.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
‘Thyme Wrap’ is a lovely traditional cable aran wrap from Windswept. Georgia, my model has one of these and she says she uses it a lot to wrap up and keep warm outside and in her flat!
Knitting: Pullover
‘Willow’ from ‘Windswept’ is a great design for those inexperienced in Fairisle knitting. The Fairisle bands are small and simple with sections of stocking stitch in between.
