This Pattern is good for a second project after learning knit and purl stitch. It is the pattern I use in my Beginner #2 classes. A good flexible hat size.

When I was in Scotland I was taken with the way the old castles were built out of random sizes of rocks and stones found in the fields nearby. This textured pattern is my interpretation of that effect.

Asymmetric Triangle shawl knit starting at one point. Knit with garter stitch, surface texture designs and lace.

This is easy to make smaller or bigger by altering the rows of each side or number or stitches cast on.

The surface design is an all over cable twist pattern which can be done without a cable needle. The design works best done with a semi solid hand dyed sock weight yarn.

Gauge is not important.
