These little guys are great for combing types of scrap yarns; they can be made plain or add stripes, zig-zags, etc. They can be made to hang as decorations, or to sit on a shelf.

Can be made taller or shorter by adding body and face rounds. In fact, it could be made smaller by going to fewer sts around in body and face.

I’ve made these in 2-3 colors. I’ve made them in Christmas, sports team and ethnic colors. They can top a wine bottle or if making just a head/hat, they can be ornaments by adding a yarn “tie” at the top. I’ve seen them used singly on a bottle of wine, or my mother has several on bottles for a centerpiece on her table.

I was looking for a cowl pattern that was snugger around the neck, looser around the shoulders, that used some fan/feather but added ribbing. Decided to create one as a gift, and love what resulted! I did this one still loose enough for various neck sizes, but one could go down to 7’s (I used 16” sz 8 circulars) for the ribbing part if one want...
