Verna’s Poncho is knit using a simple lace pattern that is repeat throughout the project. Rows of Canyon yarn alternate with rows of Sea yarn from end to end.

I’m a yarn dyer. With the idea for this stole on my mind and little time to knit, my friend Caroline was kind enough to knit the stole for me - and work out the details - hence the name.

The scarf is knitted lengthwise on the bias with one skein of the Sparkle Artful yarn. A great addition to any wardrobe when a little sparkle is called for.

Simply elegant best describes this knitted triangular shawl. Larger needles create a slightly open knit. Knit stitches along the bottom edge were later dropped to become fringe and beads are added to the fringe for a little sparkle. Garter stitch along the top edge provides stability and allows the knitted edge to lie flat.

To create this rectangular wrap we chose a simple lace design, large needles, and a richly textured yarn.

Looking through a l950’s leaflet of stitch patterns I found the “Ant Egg Stitch”. For this cowl I used the stitch in the round, which gives a different twist on the pattern.
