Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Inspired by a photo of movie star Eddie Redmayne modeling a distinctive, scrappy sweater for a fashion design house, Julia Farwell-Clay became fascinated with how the stitch pattern worked. That fascination led to an article in our pages, and ultimately to this gorgeous shell-bordered wrap design.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Worked in two colors of Jade Sapphire’s Mongolian Cashmere 4-ply.
Knitting: Hanging Ornament
This pattern is for a felted ball ornament. It can be decorated with duplicate stitch if you like, prior to felting. It takes very little yarn, and is ideal for the bits you have left from special projects.
Knitting: Cowl
Inspired by the heroically bulky neckwear on the streets in winter, this pattern takes pity on the knitter by being more entertaining to knit than the commercially available stockinette or seed-stitch versions. The cowl is constructed in 3 parts: a reversible center cable panel that is worked back and forth on short straight needles, and 2 side ...
Knitting: Throw
There are many inspirations and emotions flowing into this blanket but let’s face it: it’s a blanket. Its miters get knitted on, one square at a time. It’s a family blanket, meant for long use and many washings, so we used mostly Classic Elite’s sturdy-yet-soft beauty, Liberty Wool. For tactile and visual interest, we mixed in a few skeins of Cl...
Knitting: Throw
This blanket began with a single modification of the Mitered Crosses Blanket, which combines mitered center patches with log cabin frames. One modification led to another, until it was no longer possible to tell someone how to make this blanket by referring to the Mitered Crosses Blanket pattern.

*All proceeds from this pattern are donated by the designer to Mercy Corps, an international relief and development organization. As of July 31, 2017, $24,750.00 has been donated.*
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap

Knitting: Christmas Stocking
The inspiration for the New Ancestral Christmas Stocking came into Ann’s life many years ago as a tattered xerox of a mimeograph of a cuneiform stone-incised recipe for an oversized stocking, complete with intarsia image of a lumpy Santa.
Knitting: Table Runner
Pattern uses three colors of Louet Euroflax Sport Weight.
Knitting: Bib

Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth

Knitting: Cardigan
Pattern description from Mason-Dixon Knitting: “All you need to know when you start out is how to (1) cast on, (2) knit (purling is for show-offs), and (3) bind off. This one-piece baby kimono is an ideal project for a beginner, because in the course of the project, you will learn how to do a make one (M1) or yarn over (yo) increase. This ...
