Knitting: Mid-calf Socks
When I visited York in the UK in the 1980s I distinctly remember visiting The Shambles. I was fascinated by the uneven cobblestone paving. This pattern reminds me of those cobblestones: a bit wonky and uneven.
Knitting: Cowl
Easy cowl knitted in the round alternating with garter and purl rounds. All you need to keep in mind is to leave enough yarn to bind off as you’ll use the entire ball.

Any yarn and needles can be used to knit this shawl as it’s simply a matter of increasing in each row until the shawl is large enough to suit you. Of course, the larger the needles the more open weave the look will be and the faster it can be knitted up. Ideal for beginner knitters.
