When I couldn’t find a pattern featuring Shih Tzu, Lhasa Apso, or Bichon type dogs, with those endearing floppy ears and short little snouts, I knew I had to write one.

Inspired by Rachel Barenblat: “I cannot be the only woman who wears a kippah who wants a pink one with cat ears on it, can I?”

This small cloth was designed as a puzzle for the MIT Mystery Hunt 2015. The knits and purls spell out an instruction, which, when followed, allow the solver to read a message written on the yarn. Variegated yarn is preferred as a way to disguise the message.
