For this Lovely Lupine hat, I used four colors in the flowers. They could be worked in only one shade of any blue, purple or pink, and still be Lupines. For the stems, I added a chain stitch from bottom to top. This can also be accomplished with either a tapestry needle and embroidery technique, or with a crochet hook.

The Capitol Dome hat was inspired by the dome of the Pennsylvania State Capitol building’s dome - I love the shade of green! The hat uses four different colors of fingering weight wool. Designer used left over sock yarns, and especially enjoyed the effect given when using contrasting self-striping yarns.
