I was always frustrated by how badly hats stay put on young children. To solve the problem I added ear flaps to all children’s knit hats which worked a treat. In this design I went further and added a lining to make the hat warmer.

In the Kalevala epos Louhi is the queen of the Northern land. Her uneasy character is reflected in the kerchief’s motives, and the northern theme – in the snowflakes motives.
