I was inspired to design these Comfort Bears for Syrian Refugee children, but then I decided to offer them to our local Women’s Shelter, too. They were thrilled!

When Noreen was a little girl, it took her forever to get to school, because she was too busy being a Mermaid to remember silly things like ~school~.

Compassion is the greatest gift we can offer other people, and ourselves, too…. and this little angel is a reminder of that loving kindness.

Lily is one of Noreen’s most favorite designs ever. This version was knitted with 2.5 mm knitting needles and sock weight yarns. The finished size of the doll is determined by the thickness of the yarn and the size of the needles.

The Empress Theodora was one of the great women of history. She began her life as a circus girl, which was at the lowest strata of life in the Byzantine empire. Eventually, through her intelligence and fiestiness, she ended up as the Empress. She was a brilliant scholar and stateswoman. We need more of her.
