This is a pattern for a crocheted XMP burster (inspired by the game Ingress). It stands about 5 inches tall and is 8 inches across at its widest point.

I’ve seen several variations on cabled owls, but they have almost exclusively been knit objects. Here are my crocheted fingerless gloves with an owl motif. They’re worked from the finger-opening to the wrist with shaping and cables.

There are zillions of crochet flower patters out there; this is just one more. This one is dimensional without being floppy, and doesn’t take much yarn. It’d make a great pin, barrette, or headband, or would add that special something to a hat, bag, or just about anything else.
