The pattern on this year’s advent sweater reminds me of the Hyacinths in my windows. The Hyacinth is our little Christmas reminder, letting us know that the world is turning, and the seasons are changing. The unassuming stems quickly turns into pretty flowers that will fill our space with the smells of spring.
Knitting: Vest
This is the vest I was working on during our 4th Knitathon.

Small Stars is my Christmas Day cast-on for 2022. It was named by one of the amazing knitters from the test team, sweet Sanne, who found that the textured stitches you work for the lice on the body looked like small stars.
Knitting: Vest
Kat no. 3 is the vest I worked on during our third Knitathon. The shoulder construction, where you knit in the round while working increases over a single stitch, is a construction I have used for years when making vests for my grandchildren. This construction makes it very easy to adjust size, you just knit until the shoulders have the desired...

I knit all my wonderful memories from a family vacation in Svaneke into the Svaneke Sweater. I put in the waves rolling onto the beach, the herringbone from all the smoked herring we had, the net we weave as a family, my brother’s obsession with birds – even little Victor, my lovely grandson, is found in this sweater.

Knitting: Fingerless Gloves, Beanie, Toque, Hanging Ornament
Many years ago, I created a Christmas Collection book for myself. I collected all my ideas for Christmas, my favorite patterns and recipes, and all I needed to make Christmas happen. This book is one of the very few things I’d save, if my house was on fire. It makes me so very happy to flip through that book, because it contains the essence of ...
Knitting: Vest
This vest is inspired by the knitted vests my father-in-law used to wear; V-neck vests, buttoned in front. He’d never wear them open, and neither would I – so I make a faux button band, and just attached it after knitting the vest itself in the round (avoiding miles and miles of purling…).
