Sabline (Arenaria grandiflora L.) has small white flowers erected on a long pedicel. They have inspired me the stiches pattern of the sweater.

Stachys name refers to Stachys bysantina, a white silvery plant whose leaves, stem and corolla are covered with a fur-like hair coating. It is also named lamb’s ear.

Pepino (Solanum muricatum) is a large ovoid bay native to South America. Its golden yellow skin is marbled with brown stripes. Its sweet flavour is similar to melon flavour. I choose to name a little striped baby sweater after the pepino.

Muscari, also known as grape hyacinth or bluebells, is a bulbous plant often growned in the garden. At spring it produces dense spikes of blue flowers. There are about 40 species in the genus. In Dordogne where I live we protect Muscari motelayi.

Turdus genus includes many species of blackbirds and thrushes, two loving birds. There is a large mulberry tree in my garden. A few years ago, a blackbird was sheltering there. Kotelny Island is located in the Artic Ocean, north of Siberia. It is inhabited, covered with ice and snow. Some spots of vegetation appear here and there. This shawl structure has been designed in reference of the last winter days, before the coming of spring in this Nordic area.
