Knitting: Cowl
Pattern features four colors of Plymouth Yarn’s Aireado yarn, worked in the round as a tube and joined with Kitchener stitch. Tubular cowl can be made in various lengths and widths by varying the number of stitches, repeats, and rows in each repeat.
Knitting: Mittens
Guidelines for making a shorter thumbless mitt to accompany a traditional mitten, for those who have the use of only one hand. Instructions based on a worsted pattern but can be adapted to other patterns with some thought.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This shawlette -- a scarf, really -- was designed to hug the shoulders. Garter panels and additional increases help the shawlette curve forward to provide more coverage. Offered in one size, increasing the yarn weight and needle size will change the finished size.
Knitting: Scarf
Simple Stockinette Stitch scarf shows off the yarn. Design begins with seed stitch edge, then continues with narrow stripes, vertical stripes and wide stripes, ending with another seed stitch end. Garter stitch side borders are worked in same colors as stripes. Five colors of Zealana’s “Rimu” yarn: R3, R13, R101, R4 and R33.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Simple stocking hat with a big pompom. Fits youth large or small adult.
Knitting: Cowl
“Wavy Block” pattern stitch features 2 stitches in each 8-stitch repeat that zig zag up the cowl, particularly when it is totally relaxed. The yarn is one of three Madison County yarn colorways, and based on the iconic Clark Tower and the limestone buildings and foundations found in the county.
Knitting: Cuffs
Cozy arm warmers knit in the round, just 12” long to cover wrist to elbow. Pattern is a simple 9-stitch braid.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves, Cloche Hat
This pattern was inspired by Robbyn Kenyon’s “The Do-it-yourself Hat”, which appears on Ravelry. I hope you have fun with my version, and then try the inspiration pattern. The Shepherd’s Wool version is just underway.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
This pattern begins with the collar portion, knit side to side. Stitches are then picked up for the body of the wrap, then joined in the round to knit. Short row shaping and increases develop the shape. Wear as a one-shoulder wrap or capelet style.
Knitting: Scarf
Styled after traditional Seamen’s Scarf designs, scaled for ladies. Easy yarn-over pattern lies flat, and looks more difficult than it is.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
Rectangular wrap with an eyelet leaf pattern, worked side to side. One skein of Rayon Metallic would work if fewer stitches were cast on, but I wanted the length to make it more versatile. Choose a yarn that will drape well if substituting.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
I hope you like this “recipe” for a quick and easy shawl! This one has a flat back edge and pretty quick increases to make it wide and showy -- and nothing points at your derriere! The provided pre-cut fringe pieces are arranged across the back, instead of on the edges.
