Knitting: Food Cozy
What’s better than a hot bowl of soup that stays hot until the last drop? Cozy up to this bowl warmer of 100% cotton and double knit for insulating quality. It’s the perfect small project to practice double knitting and a great stash buster as more colours hide splatters better.
Knitting: Potholder
Small appliances need small tools. These fingertip hot pads are so handy I use them all the time, even with my “big girl” oven. They are 100% cotton so that they don’t melt when using with hot dishes and are partially double knit for the insulating quality. The gauge on these is unimportant so I’ve included a ruler to show the actual size, appr...
Knitting: Market bag (slouchy)
A simple stretchy market bag with a solid bottom, an easy lace pattern, and an adjustable strap. It has endless possible lace variations and is a great lace learning project.
Knitting: Coffee / Tea Pot
Inspired by afternoon tea in the English countryside you can create an entire village of tea cosies based on historically styled buildings. Featuring the beautiful architecture of England, there’s the austere Regency, the comfy Thatched cottage, the whimsical Victorian, a two story Tudor, the Medieval Castle and a Norman Church. Knit in a doubl...
Knitting: Vest
This is a zippered vest with a dense texture that is perfect for a warm garment. It is knit with two stands at all times though the strands are sometimes visible on the right side.
Knitting: Baby Blanket
When the weather turns chilly it’s time to snuggle my new granddaughter into a warm blanket. In designing this blanket I wanted it to be washable and stylish. I adapted a Norwegian star design repeat for the border and stockinette for the blanket.
Knitting: Tube Sock
A Perfect Fitting Toe-up Tube Sock!
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
This beanie, with the matching mittens and scarf, is inspired by the fictional town of Port Oxford.

Knitting: Skirt
What little girl wouldn’t love a twirly skirt made of petal-shaped panels?
Knitting: Scarf, Shawl / Wrap
This design was conceived in a contemplation garden near my home. It provides me with inspiration and serenity. Now the scarf gives me those same feelings every time I wear it. I have shared my vision of the garden in the pattern notes but invite you to “weave your own yarn as you knit”.
Knitting: Scarf
This is very easy garter stitch rectangular scarf knit on two different sized needles. It was dreamed up by Dr. Meg Ryerson, PhD Math and PhD music and a fictional character in two cozy mystery novels, Needled to Death and French Roulette. It may seem odd that a fictional character can design a pattern but I assure you that it is Meg who provid...
Knitting: Cowl
The cowl started as a scarf but was too short for comfort, warmth or style. Once it was twisted and sewn into a cowl it became a great winter warmer.

Knitting: Coffee / Tea Pot
An easy tea cosy pattern in an alternating seed stitch. The cosy pictured used about 1/2 ball of each of 5 colours and so is a great way to use up partial balls of this dishcloth yarn.
Knitting: Purse / Handbag
Knitted bags are sometimes floppy so I came up with the idea of lining the bag with “shelf liner” (notes in pattern) and also made it reversible. The small size closes with a button, the medium with a zip. You could also use a magnet or large snap. It would be simple to make the bag bigger for market shopping.
Knitting: Baby Blanket
A beautiful blanket in 2 sizes that is not too frilly for a boy and yet pretty enough for a girl. The body is a window pane design and the edging a sturdy pick-up and knit wave design, so no sewing required! The wave stitch uses double yarn and so gives a firm finish for tucking around baby in a stroller and is also great for teething :)
Knitting: Scarf
This scarf is a simple knit with a cable edge. It is designed for multiple wrapping without excessive bulkiness. You may alter the size easily.
Knitting: Cardigan
This crossover boatneck cardigan incorporates a stitch that I created, or rather I think I did. In knitting is there such a thing as a new stitch? I wanted a diagonal stitch to mirror the crossover design of this cardigan and I came up with this.
Knitting: Washcloth / Dishcloth
This dishcloth is knit in a diamond shape with picots worked into the increases and decreases. It can be made larger or smaller as desired. For a smaller size one ball of Sugar’n Cream will make 2.
