This cowl pattern is inspired by the upcycled mittens Bernie Sanders wore at the inauguration, made by Jenn Ellis. I used yarns I had on hand; any worsted to aran weight yarn will do. Or use a different yarn weight to get a different size.

Using big yarn and needles and a simple cable pattern, this cabled scarf knits up quickly for a great winter warmer for yourself or for gift or charity knitting.

Finished blanket is 54 inches/137 cm long and 52 inches/132 cm wide.

Finished cozy is 6 inches/15 cm tall and width varies to fit a standard sized coffee travel cup.
