I designed this cowl to help raise awareness and funds for Papyrus UK, the national charity for the prevention of young suicide. I chose a star design to remind the wearer that even in the darkest night the stars are still shining brightly above the clouds, we may not be able to see them, but they are still there.

The fourth of my Celtic Dragon sock designs, Draig Clymwaith means “knotwork dragon” in Welsh. The first two designs in this series contained dragons and knotwork in separate sections of the design. For the third design (Dragain Ceangailte) the dragons were joined together and emerged from the knotwork.

Earraich means “Spring” in Scottish Gaelic, a time of renewal and rebirth symbolised in this design by Celtic knotwork. As the dark, grey days of winter give way to spring, bright crocuses of purple and gold appear in the freshly growing grass.
