There is no gauge, you will work off of your arm span measurement. The pattern is written as more of a recipe so that you can customize to your own size/length, rather than strict row for row. The garment is worked in one huge rectangular piece, with an opening for the neck, that is folded over and seamed across the bottom only.

Gauge width is very important in this pattern, You must get 7 DC’s in 2”. You may adjust hook size to reach gauge. Gauge height is not important in the pattern.

This pattern calls for one skein of Montana Crochet’s worsted merino in the colorway Woodland Walk (220 yds) for the background of front panel and roughly 350 yds of any other contrasting size 4 yarn for the hiker grid and back panel.
