This pattern may be snug for most people, but Silk Garden stretches a lot when blocked. If you like a looser hat, cast on 96 instead of the 88 stitches given in the .pdf: the chart works the same for both stitch counts.

The Traveling Light Shawl shown is for a short person (my mother-in-law) but can easily be made bigger as long as the patterns notes for doing so are followed — i.e., end at the proper pre-ruffle row sequence.
