Knitting: Throw
I searched for a chunky blanket, knit in one piece with some visual interest, but basic enough for TV knitting. When I couldn’t find it, I decided to come up with my own. It’s based on a pattern from Simple Knits for Easy Living by Erika Knight. The Squares Throw always intrigued me, but I wasn’t keen to sew up all the squares.
Knitting: Brimmed Hat
For that baby girl you just can’t take your eyes off of. This precious little hat shows her fun side, kicking it with mom at the zoo or the park. Cotton, as always, because it washes so easily and feels so soft.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Made from Cascade’s Bulky Fixation yarn (98.3% cotton, 1.7% elastic), this newborn baby hat is a quick-knit gift for any mom-to-be. Add a stripe or pattern to match an outfit, or go crazy with the Fixation spray-dyed palette. “Cherie” is what happens when you have a lone skein of high-quality, interesting cotton yarn and a bare baby head, both at arm’s length.
