Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
The name of this shawlette is inspired by the turret-shaped edging and by an entertaining novel I recently read, called “I Capture the Castle” by Dodie Smith.
Knitting: Throw
This is a really quick knit--I averaged a section an evening--and it’s an easy introduction to lacy knitting for newbies.
Knitting: Scarf
It’s a hood! It’s a scarf! It’s a head cozy!
Crochet: Baby Blanket
This lacy wisp of a crocheted cloud is perfect for a christening or other special occasion for baby.
Knitting: Cowl
This is a fast and easy knit with chunky yarn, making it a great last-minute gift (for yourself or a loved one!) that looks anything but last minute.
Knitting: Shawl / Wrap
A simple lace stitch partners with a luscious honeycomb for the main body of this perfectly semi-circular shawl. Another simple lace pattern creates the wide ribbed border.
Crochet: Baby Blanket
This very easy pattern includes directions for both weights of yarn, chunky and worsted. I used James C. Brett Marble DK for the pink one, and Marble Chunky for the purple one, but any self-striping yarn will do.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque
Here’s an Easter Egg Hat for your little egghead!
Knitting: Cowl
I designed this simple cowl using some handspun yarn a friend gave me. It was so easy and fun, I made another with some of my own handspun yarn.
Crochet: Cowl
Wear this classy infinity scarf long, or wrap it twice around your neck for a cozy cowl.
Crochet: Baby Blanket
Use scraps of yarn, or invest in a variety of colors. Directions are included for two different backgrounds to the ruffled circle: a traditional granny, and a lacier version, as well as a V-stitch join and a lacy border.
Crochet: Cowl
With this pattern, crochet a light infinity scarf or cowl that is perfect for fall or spring. It’s crocheted in the round using double crochet and chain stitches, and a simple border gives it a professional finished look.
Knitting: Billed Hat
Add some glitz to your hat with a carry-along metallic yarn like Scoubidou, or keep it simple using just the chunky yarn on its own.
Crochet: Baby Blanket
Draw a cuddly bear with yarn! Any worsted weight yarn will work with this baby blanket pattern.
Knitting: Scarf
For a modern twist on this lace pattern, I used 225 yards of a worsted weight ribbon yarn, Berroco Glace, which gives the scarf a lovely drape.
Knitting: Cowl
Named for the attractive switchback effect this simple pattern creates, this chunky cowl still has a lacy look.
Knitting: Afghan block
This is the second collection in the Rib-It! A Sampler Throw series. There are 9 different ribbed block patterns in this collection, ranging in skill level from easy to easy/intermediate.
Knitting: Afghan block
This is the third installment of my Rib-It! A Knit Sampler Throw pattern. There are eleven different ribbed block patterns included here, and the skill level is intermediate.
Knitting: Afghan block
This is the fourth and final installment of the Rib-It! A Knit Sampler Throw series. Skill level here ranges from intermediate to advanced.
Knitting: Afghan block
I love rib patterns! They are so squishy and textured, and there are so many beautiful variations. I’ve been collecting rib patterns off and on for a long time, thinking what a great sampler blanket they would make.
Crochet: Baby Blanket
Like the wind sending ripples across the water, crocheted strips create vertical contrast to horizontal waves. Front-post and back-post stitches add texture and more movement.
Crochet: Shawl / Wrap
I named this shawlette “Rosetta” because the yarn I had on hand was rose-colored (obvious, I know) and I had a friend in the good old days whose middle name was Rosetta, so, why not honor a pal?
Knitting: Cowl
This pattern creates a vertical wave effect that has no right or wrong side, even though each side looks a little different. It’s like having two cowls in one!
Knitting: Scarf
Metamorphosis! Three different lace knit patterns shift into one another seemingly seamlessly in this captivating textured scarf.
Crochet: Afghan block
Brighten your day with this cheerful, lacy motif. Cluster and popcorn stitches make the colors pop!
Crochet: Throw
Self-striping yarn creates a symphony of colors, playing together in perfect harmony. Or use solids for a classical look.
Crochet: Cowl
The subtly shifting shades of the recommended yarn (Hearthside Fibers DK) create a symphonic play of colors in perfect harmony.
Knitting: Beanie, Toque, Baby Blanket
This zig-zagging rib pattern creates a vertical ripple as you work it. Easy for beginning knitters and attractive for any blanket, the directions here are for a baby or lap-sized blanket and matching hat.
Knitting: Fingerless Gloves
A great way to use up scraps! Made with cotton yarn, these fingerless gloves are perfect for fall or spring, or choose a yarn with wool or other warmer fibers for winter.
Knitting: Baby Blanket
If you can knit and purl, you can make this blanket. The blanket pictured is the preemie size, however, directions are included for making larger blankets.
Knitting: Scarf
This scarf reminds me of “Little Women” or Jane Austen; it’s a modern twist on a vintage look.
Crochet: Beanie, Toque, Blanket - Other
Something surprising grew in my garden! This whimsical cocoon and matching hat make a cozy swaddling for a newborn baby. And all it takes is one (giant) ball of super soft, acrylic, machine washable James C. Brett Marble Chunky (341 yards).

Please note: this pattern is for the surfboard only, not the doll. The Li’l Surfer Dude in the pic is made from the “Purl the Little Knit Girl” pattern book, full of adorable patterns by CiD Hanscom. I followed the instructions for the knit girl, but when I attached the hair, the doll looked to me like a Li’l Surfer Dude. He had to have a surfb...
