The Swedish Heritage yarn has been spun into a near-white and a near-black version from different Swedish heritage breed sheep’s wool.

I have carefully picked each fleece to be included. Both the white and black batch consists of mostly soft crimp under-wool, but with a certain portion of long thin guard hairs. Some of the fleeces had a dominant under-wool and some had a dominant overcoat, but with all the fleeces put together, both batches have the same balance of the two types of fibre.

Furthermore, some of the white skeins have been dyed so there are three more colours available! These are:
Faluröd - a red nuance similar to the most common paint used for all the traditional cottages of Sweden
Ockra - a strong yellow
Hembygdsgrön - a dark green commonly used in traditional Swedish folklore costumes

EDIT: all the dyed skeins are sold out.

I find the Swedish Heritage yarn is suitable for colourwork mittens, or fair-isle hats, since it is a 2-ply sport weight yarn of 310 m / 100 g. It is soft with a natural melange, and some added strength because of the long over-coat fibre included.
